i want to challenge you to a game of

rock paper scissors three annotations

are gonna pop up on your screen uh pick

rock paper or scissors and see if you

win do not click on all three don’t be a

cheapskate click on one let it determine

your fate don’t click on all three and

then be like oh i clicked on this one

and it said i won when you clicked on

all three don’t tell me a lot okay but

anyways moving on today we’re going to

be talking about buzzfeed and how they

pretty much have like a massive empire

on youtube i mean they have like six or

seven channels which just have they’re

all really really big channels all above

average channels and for the sake of

this video we’re just gonna use six of

them because the seventh one is buzzfeed

cnn and i don’t think those are run by

the same people so when i start talking

about the money and stuff obviously

since i believe it’s run by different

people it’s not going to the same people

so we’re not going to include let’s feed

cnn we’re going to use the other six

buzzfeed channels which i’ll go ahead

and give you a quick rundown of uh the

main one is buzzfeed video they have 5.4

million subscribers 2.5 billion views

and then buzzfeed yell which has 3.5

million subscribers 1.7 billion views

and then buzzfeed violet which has 1.4

million subscribers and 235 million

views and then buzzfeed pop which has

570 000 subscribers and 53 million views

buzzfeed central has 500 000 subscribers

and 28 million views and then buzzfeed

blue has 2 million subscribers and 400

million views so as you can tell

buzzfeed is just massive on youtube they

have a really big social presence on

youtube and uh i can go ahead and give

you a rundown on how much money they’ve

made i’m not going to go into the

numbers at all because i know you have

the attention span of a monkey and if i

start saying numbers you’re going to

click away but they’ve made five million

dollars off youtube so far now buzzfeed

is not run by one person it’s probably

run by like 10 people but even if it’s

run by 10 people over the course of like

five years i think that’s how long it’s

been around uh five years ten people

five million dollars if you divide five

million dollars by ten that’s five

hundred thousand five hundred thousand

spread out across five years i mean they

still all could have made like a hundred

thousand dollars per year which is like

twice the national average here in

america so that’s still pretty good so

pretty much if you don’t get anything

out of this video if you need some cash

just go work for buzzfeed i mean they’re

racking in the dough

off of making uh youtube videos which

i’m sure they don’t actually all get all

the money as profit i’m sure a lot of it

goes to the expenses towards making the

videos but i promise you they’re making

a decent living even though multiple

people run the channels uh they’re

making a decent living off of it and

it’s pretty cool it shows the power of a

brand uh buzzfeed itself is just really

massive and a lot of it has to do with

just they’re all leeching off their main

channel it’s the brand it’s kind of like

faze clan whenever you join phase you

automatically get 100 000 subscribers i

mean even if your content sucks you’re

going to get 100k subs just because the

power of the brand i mean you all know

what that is it’s the same way with

optic and like opting nade shot and all

that if you join optic or face you’re

gonna get tons of views and tons of

subscribers and that’s how buzzfeed is

and they have really really big social

presence on youtube and all their videos

get tons of views so it’s it’s pretty

cool to look at when you add up all

their channels the numbers they’re

pulling in are looking really similar to

pewdiepie’s which are really ridiculous

so go ahead and wrap the video up i

think i rambled enough they pulled in 5

million dollars between all their

channels combined over the course of

however many years they’ve been around

five million dollars i’m not exactly

sure how many people run uh buzzfeed i

tried googling it i didn’t really get a

certain answer and i’m not going to sit

there and click on a video and try to

count them all and stuff like that you

can figure that out on your own but uh

hopefully you enjoyed i pretty much
