well say good morning doc you’re on the

air

good morning everyone welcome back

and uh if there’s anything that i say

that borders on

giving you medical advice just realize

that you got to check with your doctor

before

taking any advice

so

that’s my disclaimer and i have some

really great information to share with

you today so i

i hope you have your

your notepad and your pen all set

and we got some really exciting

questions too so as always and i know

the audience is standing by with

quivering pen to write down the answer

and get it back to us so that’s going to

be fun

but in the meantime we’ve got just such

a huge representation from around the

world uh why don’t we start off from

dubai and we’ve got a nice guy named

michael and michael you’re on with

guys

hi michael hi how are you

great

good to see you all guys i think i’m the

fastest person on this call today

yeah dubai is a bit of uh

quite a few miles

yeah yeah go ahead with your question

michael

uh okay so we’re starting with me

absolutely

all right great uh hi good evening good

evening from my side good morning

everybody actually i’m

i’m new to intermittent fasting i

haven’t i didn’t start ketu yet

the reason is i’m going through a

vicious circle for a while now i’ve been

on anti-depressant for almost 20 months

and since i started i my weight

tripled so i in the past 20 months i

gained around 20 kilos

i tried honestly to control as much as i

can although the met says that it curves

your appetite which it doesn’t

i have craving cravings for sugar it

affected a lot of things in my body to

be frank

i’ve been doing periodical blood tests

uh i had my ostrogen high testosterone

levels low my blood sugar is good my

cholesterol is good uh it’s affecting my

liver obviously because it’s a strong

meds so my question to be honest is

there a lot of things happening in my

body and

i guess some people might relate to

between fatigue feeling tired feeling

down a lot of things

appetite

sugar cravings out of nowhere even if

you eat sugar so what’s happening today

is i started intermittent fasting

yet i’m still on my meds i didn’t start

keto because i’m not sure if if any of

these two things will actually help me

regain my shape and i’m not only looking

at losing weight i’m looking at at

really regaining my energy levels

and feeling alive again because it’s

affecting a lot of things given that

this these meds and unfortunately i have

to stay on it for a while because i’m

going through a rough

patch in my life right now i’m jobless

i’m at home

um i’m looking and a lot of things are

happening around me so if i’m taking

these meds

starting intermittent fasting i can

start here would that actually work

would it

go somewhere or it’s gonna be a waste

since these meds are still playing with

my hormones and other stuff

okay so i i have i’ve had several people

say well

um i don’t really need to do keto

because i don’t need to lose weight or

i can’t do keto because i’m a diabetic

but keto in combination with

intermittent fasting will

greatly improve your mood

um

and so you you may even get to a point

where the need for that medication goes

way way down

way down to the point where you might

not even need it at all because you’re

you’re dealing with um

providing the brain with the alternative

form of fuel

that is

what the brain needs versus the glucose

and so it’s going to greatly make you

feel a lot better because you’re in a

you’re stuck between a rock and a hard

place right now because

um

your poor brain does not get the fuel

that it needs to operate efficiency

efficiently so

um i i think it’s your really your only

solution right now is to change over the

fuel get on keto

and start to see the difference and then

once you see that

you’re going to see a huge huge impact

there’s actually several psychiatrists

right now that only prescribe this diet

as their treatment

so that’s very very exciting um so the

number of

mental

disorders that are

treated with this natural remedy is just

something you should really consider

because it’s okay i think it can help

you okay all right

thank you so much well

thank you okay you better enjoy that uh

steamy weather i understand you got a

little early summer going we appreciate

it

appreciate you coming on okay you bet

michael

i tell you what doc you know um i’d like

to suggest to everyone that any employee

of dr berg has perfect adherence to all

the things but i really sometimes slip

and i had a long travel recently and i

went berserk one day and i’m telling you

speaking of the emotional damage that

comes from that the psychological damage

i felt like crap for three days you know

it’s it really just doesn’t pay off and

when you’ve been on the

uh water wagon so to speak for a long

time and been on the plan boy you really

notice the difference and i’m really

galloping back but you know the road has

many temptations and they’re all at

those little gas stations along the road

so anyway i can feel for michael and i

certainly understand you know you’re

suggesting that there’s a psychological

factor to eating and boy is there at

least in my body

so go ahead dr berg let’s see um how

about if we go to can you hear me dr

berg

yes yes but of course you know every

time i do this show there’s either the

uh the long guy cutting the grass out

there so i have to mute

the question

he’s right outside the window last year

it was the

leaf blower guy and then before that it

was the cleaning lady that was actually

cleaning in the right outside so

um with a vacuum

of course murphy’s law

all right sounds great well listen why

don’t we go to our first quiz question

this morning and can you see your

monitor can you see these on there

if not i’m glad to read them for you

okay why don’t you read this one steve

be happy too this is a true falsehood

true falsehood maltradextrin a synthetic

sugar is not listed

as a sugar

on the label so if it’s in there they’re

not claiming that it is a sugar and is

that true or false

all right doc let’s see uh so why don’t

we go to social media doc

uh let’s see aaron from facebook what do

you think of these um sweetener

allulose is there such a thing

yes allulose is actually not a sugar

alcohol but it behaves like one

it is a really good sweetener actually

it

tastes very similar to sugar i use it in

some recipes but ali lose is like the

new

alternative sweetener on the block so

you might want to try that because it’s

actually quite good if you’re baking and

you want something that has a

zero on the glycemic index

as compared to maltodextrin which is

130

which is the highest

substance on the glycemic index

which we’ll be talking about all right

very good well let’s see um bonita from

facebook also uh can you do keto if you

don’t have a gallbladder boy that’s an

oft-asked question

yes you can do it you absolutely can do

it

um you may want to add some

purify battle salts to gallbladder

formula to help you but yes i would

highly recommend doing it

okay that’s terrific and by the way

let’s acknowledge all the people from

around our world of course we already

heard from dubai with michael we’ve got

somebody coming up daniel from mexicans

mexico city not right now daniel so you

don’t have to unmute but i want to go

through the list of people that are

listening around the world and they are

as follows good morning from the uk

canada mexico as i said zambia denmark

italy ghana belgium the philippines

chile greece france australia germany

india sweden ireland the czech republic

scotland cameroon the netherlands

austria finland lithuania dubai the

united arab emirates

japan syria israel nigeria malaysia

brazil pakistan bangladesh algeria egypt

and all across these united states and

of course it’s a mouthful for me to say

but can you imagine poor terry having to

type all this out so i’d rather have my

job and thank you all from around the

world uh for listening and let’s uh

let’s continue

to talk to people on or answer questions

from sophomores from social media

miracle baby from youtube would the keto

diet be okay for someone with

n-a-s-h

do you know what that stands for

yeah that’s a fatty liver well it

definitely absolutely positively

should be done with a fatty liver

because even within a couple weeks you

could end up with 50 percent less fat

i’ve done a video on that so

um

absolutely do it

okay that’s terrific let’s see if we

have any answers from those questions

yet

boy these folks are fast okay first

question let me bring it up for you

it asked true false

multi-dextrin a synthetic sugar is not

listed on food labels

and the audience claims at least ninety

percent of them says true ten percent

say false who’s right

well uh looks like ninety percent of the

people uh actually watched my video

today that i released and this is this

is some fascinating information

maltodextrin is behaves like a sugar

uh it’s really kind of a starch

legally

but there’s a loophole and they found

that they don’t have to list

maltodextrin

as a sugar on this uh supplement fact or

the nutritional facts so what does this

mean it means that when when you look at

the label and you’re looking for sugars

like i always do

and it has maltodextrin and it’s like

less than one gram you’re like oh it

must be must be small enough to go ahead

and consume

no because

even though it’s listed as a

carbohydrate

it’s really a sugar it’s really a sugar

and it’s not listed so you can

mistakenly be consuming something

completely throwing you off

the ketogenic diet and unfortunately

maltodextrin is in so many foods even

the keto foods

so um and even vitamins um and even

stevia so

i did a video on it if you haven’t seen

it watch it today um i will be putting a

list on my website as fast as i can to

just show you all the

foods you need to be aware of um with

this hidden maltodextrin

because

um

honestly it’s

here you have this thing that’s worse

than sugar

but it’s not listed as a sugar

and so when you’re calculating out your

your carbs

and uh and really the difference between

like

it might say it’s more carbs but you

might not think it’s bad because it’s

low in sugar so it can be very very um

a big mistake if you start consuming

stuff with maltodextrin and wondering

why isn’t this ketogenic plan working

among all the keto products i’m taking

all you know even like electrolytes

right they they’ll hide this

maltodextrin in the natural flavoring

and they use it as a drying spraying

agent it’s also it helps

mouth feel

so it they put it in different products

to make to replace fat

and to make it give the right texture uh

that creamy texture

unfortunately um we’ve been consuming

this for many years and

and really not knowing the the magnitude

of what

of what’s in these products

so

yeah stay tuned that’s tough so they’re

pulling one off over everybody with that

one that’s for sure i love these stage

names from youtube it’s guess we they

claim to be

and says will i burn any fat doing

intermittent fasting a few times a week

i can’t do keto as i love to drink or he

didn’t say love like to drink alcohol

from time to time

yeah you might be uh burning fat for

maybe five five minutes um here and

there but well the problem is

a little bit of the wrong thing can

block

a lot of good things you’re doing so

let’s say you drink

a glass of wine or some alcohol on a

given day so don’t expect to be in

ketosis for about 48 hours so let’s say

two days of the week you’re doing

fasting

well

it could just easily nullify those

results very very easily

the other thing to know is that

um when you

are not consistent with the ketogenic

diet or intermittent fasting um

or we have cheat days or you don’t do it

consistently

the a1c test measures an average

of about three months

and so what that means is that the sugar

destroys part of that

hemoglobin the protein in your blood

and so it’s irreversible so you have to

wait like three months before that red

blood cell is replaced

so you’re you’re damaging the red blood

cells and this is why a really good test

for someone like you the a1c

and uh

it should be like

five or less you know and if it’s like i

know they might say that oh yeah as long

as it’s below seven but even then you

could be going right into being a

pre-diabetic so um

that’s a really good test and if it’s

like

seven eight nine ten 11 12

whatever then you know

you need to clean up your app so

um

that’s my answer i’m sorry to tell you

but yeah you need to

do it more consistently bummer i don’t

want to encourage this but how about

just pure alcohol like gin or vodka does

that have carbohydrates

it may not uh but it but the damage on

your liver the toxicity

will make it feel like you’re eating

sugar because it creates a lot of damage

then you have this repair cycle and you

have

um also a fatty liver right not coming

from the maybe the dietary sugar but

from the alcohol that damages the liver

and the byproducts of that that your

body has to then heal so

um

sugar’s not the only problem it’s

alcohol creates other issues so um so

definitely keep it under a six-pack a

weekend steve and uh that would be a

smart smart suggestion absolutely well i

did have a misspent youth but i haven’t

drank in decades so uh that keeps me

right on the plane for keto and

intermittent fasting let’s go ahead with

the next question

uh which is a true false sir soft drinks

are made from 95 percent local municipal

tap water that’s fascinating can’t wait

to hear the answer for that audience

so climb on that and why don’t we go

back to our green room

and we have a good friend from mexico

city

daniel and daniel unmute yourself and

you’re on with dr byrd

hey dr bird how are you doing

great thanks

oh thank you so much first of all i

wanna thank you for all your content

since i started studying it uh well you

became my stable datum for my doctors

for myself and to heal the mess that i

went to uh six months ago so thank you

for everything you do on your own on

youtube and well my question is um

six months ago i started with colitis

with gastritis i was uh treated with

meds and everything

and then

kind of like

everything went uh downwards because i

started getting

pains in my colon and brain fog and

finally a doctor told me hey i think you

have a leaky gut because of all your

inflammation and symptoms and everything

well six months later today everything

going great the brain fog it’s gone i

started doing uh three months ago keto

and fasting but nowadays um

kind of like the

gastritis kind of like the

ibs

is coming back

i’m not sure if i’m dealing with a

non-discovered ulcer or it’s only a

burning sensation

i just wanted to say that i’m doing a

wheatgrass juice i’m doing cabbage juice

i’m doing a glutamine

i’m not sure if i’m missing something

because every

now and then i still get the burning

sensation under my

left

side ribs

and when that sensation comes

let’s say strong

uh the brain fog

or the headache wants to get in

and

i’m not sure if i’m missing something to

finally

yeah okay zinc carnosine would be a good

good thing if there’s an ulcer zinc

carnosine

the other

other thing is that you might want to

experiment

and

for one week don’t

bring your vegetables way way way down

because you might

people that have irritable bowel

syndrome um cannot tolerate a lot of

greens like vegetables and fiber so you

might want to try a carnivore a version

of carnivore at least

somewhat of a carnivore for a period of

a week to see if you feel better that

could be what you’re dealing with

because um

unfortunately if there’s gut issues some

people can’t even tolerate

leafy greens salads and if they’re doing

all these salads i think they’re doing a

great job now

wheatgrass juice powder is different

because it doesn’t have the fiber

wheatgrass powder would be a bad thing

because it has the fiber so we’re trying

to avoid

plant fiber

so

try that and i’m also talking i’m

assuming you’re not consuming

beans and things like that i know in

mexico

they do occasionally eat beans and corn

and wheat on occasion

but uh it’s probably a staple in the

diet especially the corn

uh i went i started doing fasting and

also one thing that i noticed is that

it’s becoming a little bit harder to do

fasting because every time my stomach or

my colon is empty

the burning sensation starts coming up

and i get a little bit uh scared so how

can i manage that to continue doing

fasting you need you need a more of a

probiotic you need more probiotic that’s

what you need because there’s a

there’s a

that’s the area you need to go into a

probiotic and then the zinc

would be very helpful as well

so listen daniel uh the it is so noisy

in the background we’re having a real

difficult time kind of imagining that

but i hope that helped you with your

questions and i hope you will continue

to uh you know come on the show or ask

some more questions on social media so

thanks so much and uh

thanks so much for coming in and

representing mexico city so well

all right let’s see we got some question

answer answer to some questions here doc

and let’s see fascinating one i think

true false soft drinks are made from 95

tap local tap water that doesn’t seem

right and the audience doesn’t think

it’s right either they think it’s they

say it’s true

88 12 say it’s false any winners

it’s true actually it’s true um

so we’re getting when you do tap water

you’re getting a lot of additional

things that you probably didn’t think

you need but of course with all the

flavorings you won’t even tell anyway

but

the problem with soft drinks is they

have a lot of phosphoric acid and which

really is bad for your teeth and the

sugar

and the caffeine

and then

sometimes it’s not even purified water

now i’m not saying all soft drinks i’m

just saying um several of the big

companies that use that

and just look it up

and uh you know when i drink when i want

to drink my soft drinks i want it with

purified water

and i’m being very sarcastic

probably least of your worries

well yeah i don’t know how much more

sugar you can get than a 12 ounce

coca-cola not diet right i mean it’s

just got tons in there so

the tap water is probably the least of

your worries uh debbie facebook’s

worried

she’s trying intermittent fasting but

get too hungry and eats too much i’m 49

i go to a hormone specialist and my a1c

is under 5. insulin is low but i

continue to eat too much is there any

appetite suppression approach available

love or honesty

you could do uh like cinnamon tea that’s

a really good one uh bitter lemon is

another uh great herb to help uh

appetite berberine is a good

supplement for appetite but those all

help with blood sugars but the other

thing you want to make sure is that the

nutrition that you eat or the food that

you eat is nutrient dense that’s one

thing it’s good luck trying to find

nutrient dense foods and then

add more fat add more fat to your diet

that’s what i would do if i were you to

help satisfy you and then the nutrients

to help

satisfy the the

any potential deficiencies that you

might have but i’ve done some videos on

it is the problem because sometimes

people they might feel stuffed but

they’re not satisfied because they’re

missing some nutrients so at the end of

each meal i

i also um i always take a good handful

of maybe uh macadamia nuts or pecans and

add a little more fat to that diet

because if i’m doing

if you’re doing keto and then you do low

fat oh my gosh you’re going to just be

hungry

well that’s interesting well you know

among all the questions we have and that

you help guide people there’s a lot of

people that want to congratulate the dr

berg approach and linda from facebook is

one of them one month on the carnivore

diet combined with intermittent fasting

and my body numbers are perfect and no

more eczema thanks dr byrd

fantastic

that’s fantastic all right let’s see

here why don’t we kick up another

question for the audience this is our

only

uh untrue false and the question is what

is the best mineral to activate the

thyroid hormone t3 i guess is that

hormone so dig into that folks and let’s

see what else do we have we want to make

sure we’re fully representing social

media they’re so patient with us

let’s see how about um oh veronica from

youtube this time what is your

suggestion for someone with histamine

issues i guess that’s allergies

yeah yeah so um

there’s two two things i’m guessing your

question relates to the allergies

histamines especially this time of the

year um

fasting is one of the best things to

help

actually even

get rid of allergies that would be one

thing the other thing is that

if you take

piercing

that’s a good remedy for these

seasonal allergies so

i’m guessing that’s what you’re asking

the last thing that i would do is that i

would start consuming a little bit more

apple cider vinegar because when you

acidify the body

many times you can reduce the effects

from histamines

that’s fantastic okay this is a very

earthy one

susan from youtube

what causes an old lady smelly scalp no

dandruff no flaky scalp just a funky

smell help

well that’s a really common question

that i get on a regular basis and i’m

being very sarcastic i never heard that

question so i um

honestly if you have a smelly scalp or

or body odor in general it just tells us

that

you probably need to be focusing on your

liver probably need to change your diet

and

um

and reduce go go yes go on the basic

program because um it could be an

imbalance in your flora on your skin

which actually comes from your gut

there’s a really cool

uh product that i’m gonna be coming out

with that’s a um

it’s a probiotic for the skin which is

very different from the ones out there

because the ones out there don’t have to

be refrigerated for a reason because

they probably don’t have a lot of

probiotics so this has to be

refrigerated put on your skin and it

helps to balance the flora

on your skin which um

if you’re taking a shower with

regular tap water the fluoride the

chlorine kills off this stuff if you’re

using these cleansers you kill off

the flora so then then things you get an

overgrowth of pathogens

so um

you know watch my videos on the skin

don’t over

cleanse or sterilize your skin

and

definitely work on getting the basic uh

diet that i recommend that’ll help you

okay that’s great and i don’t know if

you already asked answer excuse me bobby

lee’s question but it relates to the

skin as well and she’s on youtube wants

to know what she can do for excessively

dry skin i leave skin particles visible

on the floor boy everybody’s being so

honest today and transparent to have to

be swept up regularly i’ve tried all

sorts of

topical solutions

is there a vitamin that can help and

maybe a good vacuum cleaner you’d

recommend

you know that is another common question

i get um i honestly if you’re having

you know pounds of dead skin fall on

your floor you need to get a good vacuum

cleaner but i would um definitely start

with the omega-3 fatty acids for the

skin

that is the key to prevent dry skin

it’s not necessarily hydration with

water it is oils so you need

cod liver oil and that would help your

skin

greatly of course you can also have dry

skin if you’re lacking the b vitamins so

you’d want nutritional use for that

so yeah go ahead and try those two

things and

see if you can actually shed less skin

my goodness well thank you folks for

these questions because it makes for

good tv i can tell you that so anyway

why don’t we go back to our green room

and let’s see we have a lovely lady

named deb coming to us from ogden utah

and deb you are on the air with dr byrd

unmute yourself please dear

self okay

thank you thank you dr berg uh this is

dip i’m from ogden utah i have been

doing keto and intermittent fasting for

a year and a half i told my doctor i’ve

been controlling

um

like pre-diabetic diabetic for

about 20 years and uh

covid

happened and my husband got covered and

the family got coveted and my blood

sugar went up and i said what can i do

and he said try keto he says you can’t

do it like try it i said i will do it

and i have

and um

i did find that and the intermittent

fasting uh my cholesterol went or stayed

high and so i went vegetarian and 75

points down on adding the vegetarian to

the diet not completely vegetarian like

once once a week i’ll have something but

you know

um

70 years old so i think i’m doing pretty

good but my problem is that i checked my

blood sugar i checked it again and again

and it’s always the same at 6.5 on an

a1c

and it’s not going down so i decided to

check it

like many times during the day and i

found out that at night it might be low

but all night long it just keeps going

up

and then as soon as i get up whether i

eat or not

um

it goes down

you you have um you have a really

perfect example of a new video that i

just did today in fact

um yes because um

what what’s going on is that if you’re

not eating dietary sugar okay

either you’ve had insulin resistance for

a long time and your body still hasn’t

recovered for that that’s a common thing

but there’s also something else in this

i don’t know if this relates to you but

if you are experiencing stress this

thing called stress and if you’ve ever

heard about it before a cocoon

yes

um

stress uh activates cortisol and

cortisol

causes your liver

to make

sugar

despite what you eat so yes the stress

level um

is is almost equivalent and this is what

this will keep your a1c high

um despite having a good good diet so

what do you do well there’s a couple

things you can do one is make sure every

single day you work out you have

exercise for and i do

an hour a day

great burn off that extra sugar the

other real key factor is to make sure

you’re having enough

sea salt

because

if you don’t have enough sea salt

actually can help lower cortisol if you

ever notice that because adrenals

regulate salt

if you don’t have enough salt your

cortisol tends to go higher and even

when people kind of come home from a

stressful day

they need something salty you know and

then they oh i can feel better i can

breathe so

sea salt and of course add some

potassium to that good electrolyte

powder so uh i think that will greatly

help you um

if you want to go if you want to do keto

but you want to be a vegetarian

i like that better than a vegan because

you’re allowing eggs and some other

proteins but yeah

just make sure it’s more difficult you

can do it but it is more difficult

because of the carbs it’s hard to find

those foods that are low on carbs but

you can still do it um yes i can

yeah and

so i think what you need to focus on

right now

is just the stress level and watch my

videos and stress and

and work on that um you may want to do

some additional things like physical

work around the yard that it’s such a

great way to drop your blood sugars as

well in court assault so

sunshine

yes yes absolutely

well that’s great

is there a copy of this uh do you put

post this so i can watch this again

yes yes this will be posted today and

you can watch it again and and uh stay

tuned for the video that i will release

uh

actually i just did the video this

morning so the probability is like four

days so okay we’ll talk more about that

and the name

um

it it’s gonna the name has to do with um

um

let’s see the name was gonna be

something related to uh and i haven’t

defined it yet but how high your sugar

can actually go you’re like i think it

was the the world’s record for the

highest blood sugar

that’s the name of it

yeah

and that uh

someone had a blood sugar level like it

2 600

milligrams per deciliter

2 600

and in and you’re worried about your

blood sugar

yeah

150 180 right right 20 just can you

imagine waking up going oh it’s 2600

well i think i need to uh

yeah so yeah

all right well thank you thank you so

much deb for joining us we really

appreciate that

and uh mute

there she goes all right let’s see i bet

we’ve got uh

questions

answered here

all right so question number three quiz

question number three let me review it

with the audience

and uh

let’s see i don’t think we we must have

yeah what’s the best mineral no we don’t

yeah we need i think we need to ask a

question oh no no you did ask ask the

question we forgot answers yeah okay so

what’s the best mineral to activate the

thyroid hormone

t3

and let’s see 50

said selenium and 30 said iodine 10 said

magnesium and 10 percent said

potassium

okay the answer is selenium selenium is

uh the best

mineral to convert

the inactive t4 to the active t3 so uh

and you can get all of your selenium for

a whole day and one brazil nut so go

figure but selenium is also in sea kelp

it’s in seafood especially

shellfish

but i tell you it’s becoming more

difficult to get your selenium from

other foods simply because it doesn’t go

back in the soil uh unfortunately

farmers use just the

three minerals npk and they don’t put

the selenium back in there so it’s not

in the soil it’s not going to be in the

food it’s not going to be in your body

so you can convert these hormones so

since 90 percent of hashimoto’s which is

a thyroid

thyroid problem

is autoimmune i’m sorry let me just

rephrase that since 90 of hypothyroidism

is hashimoto’s um

it means that instead of

adding more iodine you probably need to

focus on selenium

um and other things that will

help that conversion so i will release

that video um

shortly to talk about that

because we’re on the topic of

the thyroid and also i’m going to show

you a test that

you can do it’s a home test to determine

if you truly have

a hypothyroid condition or

is it being caused by something else

i think that’s important because

many people don’t really have a thyroid

yet they were diagnosed with the thyroid

interesting well here we go with some

more success for goodness sakes uh

angela from

angelica excuse me from facebook wow

i’ve got four people at my work losing

weight and improving their health with

healthy keto thanks so much dr byrd

so there you go that’s awesome spreading

like wildfire

all right let’s look here so

um oh

this is an interesting one molly from

facebook what are the best foods and

supplements for someone who’s had a

kidney transplant

well there’s um

you want to go down the same

same diet if you had a liver transplant

it’s basically healthy keto in

intermittent fasting um the other the

thing that you have to deal with because

you’re probably on either prednisone or

some other type of drug that has to

suppress your immune system because

now uh your body’s gonna look at that

organ as a foreign

entity unless you have a twin sister

that you got the organ from which

probably is not the case so what what i

would do is you have to just work on

minimizing the damage that comes from

the medication that you take and that’s

protozoan

i have done a video on that by the way

you could look it up on on things but

there’s a great great um

thing to take

now

you can

search out this remedy

online and it’s basically actual kidney

extract

and um the thing about i i like about

that is that

when you take this kidney it’s bovine

kidney x-rays it comes in a pill

[Music]

your body has antibodies against this

kidney and it will start to

um

attack the decoy that you’re taking

before bed

instead of your own kidney so it gives a

chance for your kidney to go

oh thank goodness i can

relax i don’t have to have this constant

antibody attack on my kidney my kidney

that you

the new kidney that

that’s in your body and that reduces

inflammation

so

the other thing

um

is to do everything you can to

uh

beef up or support

the adrenals because that zone

is what you’re dealing with is the side

effects

all right that sounds great we’ve got

someone else in the green room this time

it’s jess

and let’s see jess is calling from the

state of washington and jess center

yourself up there and there you are on

with dr burke

hello hello

hi

um so my question i have been doing keto

i’m breastfeeding so i don’t do

intermittent fasting but um

i

help take care of my mom and she has a

litany of health issues

so she has copd

stage four and heart failure and stage

three kidney failure and diabetes and

the lifts can go on

she is on a diuretic as well as a

potassium supplement from her kidney

doctor and she is on coumadin because

she has a

prosthetic heart valve or two

so i’m wondering how to she’s been on

keto for four weeks her

blood sugars have come way down from

197 to this morning it was 104.

and i’m wondering how to help her

navigate with all the medication

specifically the diuretic

i could tell last week that her sodium

was a little bit low so i do have your

electrolytes and i gave her some of

those but then she ends up gaining

weight because of the sodium but i know

that she’s

hyponatremic from how she’s acting

just wondering if you have any advice

for that

yeah and this is the only thing that you

have to

uh work with your doctor on is to

if it’s a stage four um

kidney failure that’s the only thing

because it’s stage three

okay three okay that’s good that’s good

yeah um and she goes between a two and

three depending on her gfr

this is great this is great

um

so as the kidney loses function you also

have a problem with protein in the urine

you get the fluid in the tissues and

then so so i think the um the best thing

she can do right now is um number one

get on a low carb diet and make sure

that the calories that she’s eating

that it’s high quality so you have a the

healthy version of the ketogenic diet

because

um what she’s dealing with

in the lung

in the heart in the kidney is

inflammation and so

if you can

use some of these um these other

nutrients

high-level nutrients from like

good salads and other things that have

antioxidants

that will at least minimize the

complication from all this inflammation

and that’s creating this collateral

damage

and i think uh

so if we don’t um

we don’t um

add more insult to the kidney with carbs

and then we can actually put the

antioxidants there

um there’s a there’s a book on i’m

studying right now i’m going to put this

up right here i don’t know if you can

see it

in your mouth your mom doesn’t have aids

but this book is on

hiv and aids in

antioxidants the research they’re doing

by giving

patients antioxidants

for that disorder which is quite

remarkable so if you take any chronic

illness and you give them a lot of

antioxidants

get rid of the oxidative thing like the

glucose

you can keep them

going for a long period of time and

minimize the damage so

and

the research in this book is all about

using

certain plants that are very high in

antioxidants so you know the parsley and

the um the kale and

um just all those different variety

vegetables i think could

really help her in addition to a really

good probiotic

and

i think those factors with intermittent

fasting

hopefully she can come off this

medication

eventually okay

yeah she is on coumadin um but her the

warfarin clinic is willing to work with

us as far as um adjusting her warfarin

for how much dark leafy greens she’s

eating so as long as we stay consistent

with that they’re willing to work with

us which is nice

that’s really nice and i forgot about

that point and so um okay so then we

also have to pick more of the

um orange and yellow vegetables versus

the green but but if you could add the

other green in there too i think that’s

going to be worth it because

um

yeah see see let me tell you the problem

that she’s up against so

the the green plants are loaded with

chlorophyll right so you have all these

great colorful things but what about the

yellow and orange

vegetables they still have chlorophyll

but not nearly as much

so

you know we have to figure out how we’re

going to deal with that but anyway

that’s what i would focus on okay great

thank you

you’re welcome thanks so much for

joining us jess and boy i tell you mom’s

awful lucky to have such a devoted

daughter to take care of that myriad of

problems so uh one day i may call you up

when i start fading

see if you can take care of me too let’s

see uh let’s look here doc what do we

have we better get to another question

better get to another question here

let’s see how about this one

all right folks this is our longest in

history

question four lines can you believe it

so you better write this down true false

most grapefruit seed extract supplements

work as an antimicrobial because of

additional chemical additives more than

the actual

uh

extract

uh so me let me clarify this steve

because it sounds like uh we did kind of

butcher the question a little bit um so

the question and i came up with this

because

i probably won’t be doing a video on it

but i want to educate people on it so

great fruit seed extract okay is this

true or false um

people take it as an antimicrobial and

it’s very effective

[Music]

and the question is um

why does it work is it um

it and this is in this and you can say

true or false but basically it works

because

of some additive

um chemicals that they add in the

processing of this natural remedy

and so works more for that than the

actual grapefruit seed extract that true

or false

dig into it folks and thanks for

clarifying that for us doc let’s see

we’ve got let’s go back to the green

room once again and we got a really

handsome guy from wisconsin named lashon

uh and lashon yep unmute yourself and

you’re gonna get on with dr berg there

he is

hey

can you hear me perfectly

great hi and thank you for that

compliment i appreciate it um

so thank you dr berg for everything

obviously you are doing the lord’s work

out here let me tell you it’s uh it’s

it’s crazy it’s amazing um so uh i’m

five um i’m uh just started um

intermittent intermittent fasting and

doing keto for about six months now

almost six months i’m 45 years old i’ve

lost

about i went from 190 pounds to uh about

down to like 170 372.

sometimes it’s 174 172 it depends on the

day and the time of the day i guess but

um

i

am wondering um two things i have this

tinnitus

uh in my right ear um and i’ve watched

your videos on it and then you know and

i’m still not sure if it’s nerve damage

or insulin resistance i’m pretty

disciplined now really i don’t have any

cheat days i don’t have any you know i

haven’t really i don’t i’ve been pretty

uh pretty good about what i eat and when

i eat

um and so there’s there’s this tinnitus

i have to actually sleep with

um you know white noise or um

an audiobook because i can’t i’ll just

hear this and it’s a strange

tinnitus because it it rings but it’s

also like it

goes up and down in pitch it’s very

strange

and um

and then uh there’s that and then also

sometimes after i eat my first meal of

the day like around three or four i get

so sleepy and i want to fall asleep and

i do fall asleep sometimes and wake back

up and so um there’s those two things

i’m wondering um is my am i am i fat uh

am i doing this right um because i’ve

lost weight and everything so i’m not

really sure good so good question i i

think based on that laughter last thing

you said it confirms what i’m going to

recommend because if you get sleepy

after you eat

that usually is a blood sugar issue or

or some pretty bad insulin resistance so

if you were to um check your blood

sugars

before and after you eat just to see

what’s going on you know see if the

blood blood sugars are still going up

maybe too high

and that’s because

the insulin resistance is there so you

don’t have

the benefit of enough insulin to bring

the sugars down and too much insulin is

kind of like similar to having a

thanksgiving meal and you just want to

go take a take a nap because you’ve ate

too much and

sleep it off but um

so if that’s the case which it sounds

like it is

you probably could be benef it’s going

to be beneficial to take something

called benfotamine

which is a

type of b vitamin that helps to uh

heal the nervous system the fine nerves

in the inner ear

which will hopefully eventually help

your tinnitus and uh

that would align i just got your keto

support so literally today you’re so

there’s been photomeaning that right

yes there is uh there’s been photimine

in there yes

so i think that’ll help you um so i

think what you just have to do now is

give it more time

and then um

keep doing better at it like

keep the carbs down keep it healthy do

more fasting

and just let it play out because i think

you just if you have bad insulin

resistance the way that you know that

you’re really doing really well is all

of a sudden you have energy after you

eat

okay

and then you’re like okay now it’s

really working

one thing you might want to add to the

mix with some outside of vinegar while

you eat like in a

glass of water drink that and see if it

doesn’t perk you up if it does

then we know it could just be a

you’re not breaking down your proteins

enough okay and that’s in addition to

the because i’ll do the electrolytes in

the morning with apple cider vinegar and

a little bit of pink himalayan salt as

well to your do your product your

electrolyte powder so that’s in the

morning when i first get out you should

add the apple cider vinegar at the meals

um because that’s going to also help

insulin resistance but um

yeah we have to handle that

because food is supposed to give you

energy so

there’s some

the

fuel is not getting in the cell um like

it should and that’s like

that can actually create a situation

with the whole dynamic of what happens

with insulin so i think you’re on the

right track we just have to tweak it a

little bit

okay we’ll do thank you so much

appreciate you you’re welcome thanks for

coming on with us lashon and

representing wisconsin so well so let’s

see uh the audience by the way with that

last question is completely on the fence

and i’m not going to even put it up doc

because we didn’t represent it well but

it was about a grapefruit would you

recap that real quick so the audience

understands the answer

yeah so

so i think i’m just going to tell you

the answer because i guess it was

probably the

worst question worded question i’ve ever

done in my life 50 50 by the way for the

audience

okay grapefruit seed extract

very very effective at

candida

bacterial infections

yeast infections a lot of people use it

but i have i happen to stumble on some

information that was like

wow that’s this is uh pretty pretty

interesting and i

you know when i see information like

that i have to share it because um even

though it’s probably not popular or not

exciting to learn about you know you

need to know about if you’re if you’re

taking this grape seed extract i’m not

talking about grape fruit seed oil

that you would use topically

on your skin i’m not talking about that

i’m talking about the supplement extract

um

unfortunately um

a lot of the um the processing plants

that make this and there’s one in japan

there’s one another place

they use a

chemical to process it it’s a very

powerful antimicrobial

and so there was another research team

that

that

used that without

the chemical and they found it didn’t

work and then they added the chemical

and it worked like

um a charm so unfortunately when you’re

taking a remedy a natural remedy

and it’s working

with a chemical that’s unfortunate you

want to take things that work without

chemicals but that one um if you’re

taking it now you should probably do

some your own research and

and on that topic and

and i don’t know if you could find

find it without that chemical but

i just i just i would want someone to

tell me if you’re taking a natural

remedy but the real reason why it’s

really working is because there’s a

chemical in there that is causing the

effect well i i need to know about that

so

so

i mean i i did a video and i promoted it

but then i just found some additional

information that i i wanted to share on

that topic so i’m not surprised of the

confusion steve that’s interesting well

i’ll tell you what someone’s been really

uh patient that’s jess she has a

beautiful little one with her and i’ve

been making her carry that around for

the better part of an hour and uh let’s

see so uh jess unmute yourself

and let me get centered up in your

camera so we can see your pretty baby in

your face there you are oh

i don’t know if you can see her

sleeping oh good will you let her sleep

and go ahead with your question jess

oh i asked my question i can ask you

another question if you want

my god did we already have you on

forgive me

my goodness okay brain fog well i tell

you what uh let me go then to uh tom

and tom is doesn’t have a video feed

so tom you’re kind of on the um

you’re kind of on the phone so to speak

tom go ahead with your question

yes thank you very much dr berg and i’ve

been following you for quite a while

here i’ve been on keto intermittent

fasting for a year and a half almost

um i am 70 years old now and i was doing

wonderful for the first two months

i’m down 30 pounds so i’m back to my

teenage weight of 165 and i’m 5 foot 11.

and then things started getting tough as

far as getting hungry now i’ll just add

this in it probably isn’t relevant but

i’m a snowboarder and a year ago january

february i slammed into a tree quite

hard on my right side

i didn’t break any bones i’m surprised i

didn’t but boy oh boy my right ribs were

very sore and my organs underneath they

were very sore for a couple of months i

did have my blood work checked then to

see i didn’t hadn’t done any damages my

blood came back there was no blood in my

ear and all that kind of stuff but ever

since then i can be just um

doing my intermittent fasting and

suddenly i get so hungry

that it feels like my stomach has

collapsed and i can’t even continue

working on anything i have to stop and

go eat i used to be able to be omad i

even had done a couple of 48 hour fasts

before and

it’s weird and now also to since

everybody’s sharing interesting things

today

my stools almost always float now pre me

doing keto i never really paid attention

but they’re mostly floaters now and i do

seem to go from ordinary bowel movements

to suddenly a diarrhea session then back

again

i’ve had the

iggf um

food sensitivity done a little while ago

and so i’m now eliminating things like

eggs and right now i’m currently off of

all cow dairy i’m eating goat cheese and

that kind of thing i think i’m getting

better as far as my

feeling energized

oh yeah i was the other thing one of the

real benefits was in my snowboarding i

could only go a few runs before my knees

were sore and i was tired now i can go

all day

wow oh yeah

yeah this is some good data now uh you

you slammed on your right right side

into the tree uh correct

yeah and do you have bruised ribs and

all that right yeah my ribs were sore

for a couple of weeks but it was my soft

tissues underneath that we’re probably

saw for a month or two well you just

described

potential like issue with the

gallbladder i think a really good remedy

for you

would be to support the uh the bile

gallbladder formula as well as

something else called tut cup which is a

type of

bile salt that you would take on an

empty stomach

because

that’s going to

that this the floating stool is a big

clue it’s like you’re you’re some

somehow we’re getting a deficiency of

bile but then you also mentioned that

you get diarrhea which could be an

excess amount

of bile but but the tuck kind of cleans

out the pipes in the liver and allows

you to

improve the function of the gallbladder

and so

what that’s going to do to your blood

sugars it’s going to prevent that sudden

need for

eating it’ll help stabilize your blood

sugars greatly it’ll support the liver

and who knows some of that

trauma could have

you know throughout the um

some of the organ function through there

not to mention you know what it would

shock the adrenals it could be a little

spike in cortisol but

tudka and also um a gallbladder formula

those two

i think would help you um with with

those symptoms that you’re mentioning

and i wouldn’t wouldn’t take much of it

i’d just try a little bit see how it

goes maybe add a little bit more

and then take that for a while until

you’re

stabilized

um yeah that’s what i would do oh okay

good so uh we’re talking uh bile salts

here

yes okay that’s right yeah i’ve got some

already that

my natural pathway i went to recently

said

i should be

on uh bhb

beta hydroxybutyrate and a little bit an

eighth of a teaspoon of bentonite

and uh there’s something else but

anyways yeah

now uh the the make sure you get the tut

cuff because that’s a that’s a um a type

of bile salt that is a little different

and that one uh opens up the um

the flow through your bile ducts and

just does wonders on the liver and the

gallbladder and uh especially with the

symptoms that you’re you’re telling me

about so that’s a that’s probably your

best bet all right

um would it be worth my while to get a

blood glucose

monitor

i don’t i yeah currently i had i have no

idea what my blood work is i’m in to see

a gastroenterologist

in a month or two so we’ll find out so

i’ll get one of those finger pricking uh

blood glucose monitor dudes yeah because

i’ve really been staying away from sugar

so

yeah and let’s say for example your

blood sugars end up being high at a

certain part of the day

and yet you’re not eating sugar then

what does that mean it means that your

cortisol is high

so i will be releasing that video on

that but cortisol is the

other thing that can raise your blood

sugars because the liver is making too

much sugar

which is called gluconeogenesis so here

you are you traumatize a liver who knows

if that’s

that threw things off a little bit

um so that that makes sense

okay

well i’ll get some tut cut going here

one of the problems being in canada here

uh the things that you sell online i

can’t get or it’s extremely expensive to

ship it here yeah anyway yeah thank you

very much and uh this has been an honor

to be able to participate it’s just too

bad my camera’s not working but anyways

carry on carrying on thanks a lot

thanks tom and thanks everyone else i

really appreciate everyone’s great

questions and uh attention um of this

hour you’ve made it all the way in an

hour for those of you dedicated

watchers and stay tuned for this next

week i have some really interesting

videos coming up i think you’ll enjoy

and then i will talk to you next friday

morning or actually late morning at 11

o’clock next week

[Music]

you
